Radio News Fada Ad, August, 1946

This ad from the August, 1946 issue of Radio News magazine shows several popular Fada radios from that year. Most recognizable is the bullet-shaped Model 1000. Also shown in the lineup to the right are Models 605W and 1001, plastic and wooden radios, respectively. The happy family above is listening to a Model 652, a set that had been introduced one year earlier, in 1945.

Some collectors would pay a premium for the 652 and 1000 models because their cabinets are made of a plastic called Catalin. If you run across either of these, expect the price to run at least 10 times the price of the other Fadas shown here, even though they're all basically the same inside.
